Merit Casino belongs to Net Group of Companies. The roots of Net Group of Companies, which is the leader of Turkish tourism sector today, goes back to the foundation of Net Tourism A.Ş. in 1974 with a capital of 500 Turkish liras by approximately 100 translator guides who were convinced by Besim TIBUK who perceived the lack of institutionalized organizations in the Turkish tourism, to extensively serve the Turkish tourism.

Net Turizm , which is a multi partner enterprise, was one of the first examples of the public companies in the Turkish capital markets. The group of entrepreneurial partners who came together with a new concept opened their first shop in the historical and touristic quarter of Istanbul, namely Nuruosmaniye, which is different than the small touristic shops in the sense that it is in a large scale and more institutionalized. Thanks to this venture of Net Turizm , the tourists visiting our country are served with shopping possibilities of quality, seriousness and security provided by these sales stores having institutionalized infrastructure. Firsts such as the warranty of products and home delivery organization were realized by NET and improved the image of the country to the highest level.
As a result of the expanding activities of this company, Net Holding A.Ş. was founded in 1981 with a capital of 60 million TL.
Net Holding A.Ş. brought a totally new concept to the tourism sector rapidly and exploited the existing tourism potential of our country through its pioneering investments.

Net Holding A.Ş. with its headquarters in Istanbul coordinates the activities of group companies, and fulfills the planning and auditing function. It also provides all kinds of financial, administrative and legal coordination requirements of the group companies and it leads them.

The group engaged in areas such as hotel management, construction, renovation of historical buildings, renting of luxurious cars, land and property development, duty free shops, music and multimedia shops and operation of coffee chains over the years and made investments abroad. Between 1988 -1998 Net Holding A.Ş. run eighteen casinos all over Turkey. And become the leader in gambling sector.

Net Holding currently maintains its activities in hotel management and entertainment sector in Cyprus and Azerbaijan.
Thus, the group activities, which were focused on commercial relationships at the beginning, transformed into investment activities.

All of the shares of Net Holding A.Ş. which is truly a “Public” company since its foundation are registered with Istanbul Stocks Exchange Market and almost 90% of its shares are publicly traded.
Net Group worked closely with foreign investors because of the characteristics of its sector and made a lot of effort to bring foreign capital to our country. It brought the international hotel management company Ramada International in 1987 and English duty free company Allders in 1985 to Turkey through its partnerships. Net Mağazacılık Company was the only duty free operation in Antalya Airport and Swissair and Nuance International that is the joint venture of Italian Pam and Stefanel groups became partners over the years.

Besides these commercial partnerships, the shares of Net Group were purchased by Soros funds and a lot of international funds. Net Group of Companies became a pioneer and set an example in tourism, and contributed a lot to our country with this concept besides its commercial activities.
